Spectrum offers affordable counseling services that are LGBT-sensitive, provided by LGBT therapists as well as therapists who are LGBT-knowledgeable. Counseling services are delivered with a special focus on the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families whose lives are touched by LGBT issues. We also provide referrals as appropriate. Sliding scale fees are available.

Some issues we can help with: understanding sexual orientation & gender identity; coming out; challenges facing same-gender parents; parenting an LGBT child; relationship issues in LGBT partnerships; dealing with homophobia and transphobia; depression and anxiety; relationships with family and friends.

Parent Support: Many parents and caregivers feel uncertain when they learn their child is gay or gender variant. They may not know how to react or support their child and they may have conflicting feelings about whether or not they should support their child.
